Everything about Vereende home insurance

With the Vereende Homeowners Insurance policy, you can insure your home and its fixtures and fittings (items that cannot be moved, i.e., those that are permanently attached to the structure). Examples include a built-in kitchen and a shed or fence that is part of the property.

What is the insured amount under Vereende Building Insurance?

Building insurance is usually determined based on the rebuilding value. The rebuilding value is the amount needed to build a similar new house in the same location. This rebuilding value is calculated by multiplying the contents of the home (m³) by a set rebuilding value per cubic meter.

Are foundations co-insured?

Often people also ask if the foundations should be included in the insurance. Foundations are the parts of the building below the lowest walkable floor on which the house is built. Foundations are not included in the term residential house and thus must be co-insured separately if desired. We recommend that you do so because it is quite an expense if the foundations are damaged, for example, by an explosion.

Different types of coverage

Property insurance typically has 4 types of coverage, namely:

  • Fire coverage. This is the most limited insurance.
  • Extended variety coverage (UGV).
  • The UGV+.
  • The all-risk coverage. This is the most complete variety coverage.

These coverages pay for damage caused, for example, by fire, lightning, storm (wind force 7 or more), water damage, burglary, vandalism and collision damage.

Is buildings insurance mandatory?

In principle, buildings insurance is not mandatory. However, if you own your own home with a mortgage, the bank generally does require buildings insurance.
