When do you get a driving disqualification?

Suppose you commit a serious traffic offence in Germany and are subsequently banned from driving. Penalties such as a driving disqualification only apply in the country in which the offence was committed. So if you get a driving disqualification in Germany you are allowed to drive in the Netherlands. However, in Germany you are not allowed to drive a motor vehicle, not even to drive back to the Netherlands. For a driving disqualification or another traffic offence in Germany, no points are added to the Dutch beginner's driving licence or points driving licence.

If you drive on the road under the influence of alcohol, you can cause major damage. Not only to your own vehicle or yourself, but also to others or other people's possessions.
