How do I get access to Roy Data?
If you have an active auto insurance policy, you build up claim-free years by not filing any car damage claims with your insurer. For every year you go without filing a claim, you move up one step on the no-claims discount ladder. The higher you are on the no-claims discount ladder, the greater your premium discount. So, if you’ve built up many claim-free years, your auto insurance becomes significantly cheaper. Insurers have access to your claim-free years. These are recorded in the Roy Data database. Every insurer has access to Roy Data, but can you also access Roy Data yourself? We Geennee.nl it to you on Geennee.nl .

Roy Data, what exactly is that?
Until September 1, 2007, when you canceled a car insurance policy, you received a cancellation statement from the insurer. This statement listed the claim-free years you had accumulated during the term of your car insurance policy. When taking out a new car insurance policy, you had to provide this cancellation statement to prove your claim-free years. In 2007, however, the system switched to a central, digital database: Roy Data. The database is managed by the EPS Foundation (Efficient Processes for Non-Life Insurers). When you cancel your car insurance, the insurer enters your accumulated claim-free years into Roy Data. When you take out a new car insurance policy, the new insurer consults Roy Data. This way, they know how many claim-free years you have, allowing them to grant the correct premium discount.

Here's how to access Roy Data online
You can request online access to your Roy Data records through the EPS Foundation website. You can access your Roy Data registration by filling out the access request form. All you need to do is provide some personal information and attach a copy of your ID. You will not be granted immediate access to your data after submitting the form. Generally, this process can take up to 28 days.
It’s important to note that the recorded data isn’t always up to date. Claim-free years are only entered into Roy Data when a car insurance policy is terminated. The claim-free years you’ve accumulated during the term of your car insurance policy aren’t yet recorded if the policy is still active. Is your car insurance still active, and are you curious about how many claim-free years you’ve accumulated? You can request this information from your insurer. They’re also listed on the policy statement you receive annually from the insurer.
What should I do if my information is incorrect?
If, after reviewing your information, you find that your data in Roy Data is incorrect, you can contact the insurer that recorded these claim-free years. The insurer in question can then correct the incorrect claim-free years. There is no point in contacting Stichting EPS about this. Stichting EPS cannot and is not authorized to adjust claim-free years.
