What coverage can I take out?

Theft coverage is especially important because the risk of theft is high with motorcycles. The most limited coverage, WA motor insurance, only pays for damage you cause to another person. So damage to your own motorcycle is never compensated with this coverage.

Consequences of riding a motorcycle without motorcycle insurance

Of course, you are not allowed to ride your motorcycle without a license. Do you not have a license yet, but decide to ride your motorcycle anyway? Then this can have major consequences, as this is not only dangerous, but also punishable. Moreover, motorcycle insurance does not provide coverage if you ride a motorcycle while you do not yet have a license. This means that you will have to pay for the costs yourself, the moment you sustain damage. This applies to both the cost of your own damage and damage to another person. The insurance company will compensate the damage to the other party, but will then recover it from you. So you still have to pay the costs yourself. Is someone else riding your motorcycle who does have a driver's license? Then the insurance will pay for the damage.
